Benefits of using baby changing tables

If you’ve just finished decorating your baby’s nursery then a nice finishing touch would be to purchase a baby changing table. Often this piece of furniture is overlooked compared to cribs, drawers and wardrobes. The changing table can be an important piece of furniture in the nursery, but it’s not a necessity. It’s just very convenient to have one in your baby’s bedroom.

If you decide to buy a changing table than its most people agree that the ones to buy are the tables with doors on. This is because you can store all your diapers, wipes and cleans away on the shelves and than simply close the doors and then they are all out of your baby’s reach. Often baby changing tables have either two or three shells underneath the changing unit which provide more than enough space to be able to store away everything you need to change our baby.

Although baby changing tables are often thought of as a luxury, most people do have nine months to decide whether they want or not, and this is usually more than enough time to start saving for one.

For safety reasons it is only recommended that you use your baby changing table for the first year of your baby’s life. This is because after a year your baby starts to wiggle around and kick their legs a lot more while they’re getting their bottom changed. Secondly there’s a weight restriction for using the tables so it’s only recommended to use the table as a changing station while your baby is under one year old to make sure you don’t exceed this weight limit.

You want to make sure the table is sturdy as you will be placing your baby on top of this changing table every day while you change their diaper, so you need to know that your baby is going to be safe. To check the safety of the table you may want to drive down to your local baby store and have a look at one in person. Once you’re happy with your choice you can start searching online for the best deal available.

Although it is nice to go to a brick and mortar store and see the baby changing tables, often the best deals are found online as the competition is much fiercer than the few baby shops in your local area, and therefore the pushes the price down giving you a better deal.
